Heading in Football U7-U11
Announced back in May, heading will be phased out over the next three seasons following a IFAB trial to remove deliberate heading in grassroots football matches at U12 level and below. From the start of the season this weekend, matches involved U7-U9 there will be restarts for deliberate headers, touchline restarts (not throw ins) and removing sanctions in the event of a deliberate header during a match.

Shin Pad Policy Update
Shins pads are a compulsary piece of equipment for all players in grassroots football. At Blewbury Amazons, we take the safety and well-being of our players seriously.
We have recently become aware of a trend amongst some Grassroots football players to wear “micro” shin pads having been influenced by some current England Premiership Players.

The club has decided that "micro” shin pads do not provide adequate protection to the shin area, and are not suitable for use within Blewbury Amazons Girls Football Club. All players should wear shin pads that cover the area from the ankle to just below the knee, and be secured by socks or straps.

Any child who is not wearing appropriate shin pads will asked to refrain from matches or training until they have suitable protective equipment.

Please direct any questions about this policy to a Club Welfare Officer (welfare.blewbury@gmail.com).
Full policy details are available in Club Documents which can be found on the "more" tab of this website.
